You can use Content Gating to require users to identify themselves on a form before viewing content items.
Content gating is set at item level for each item separately and not for all items in the Content tab.
To add content gating, you must perform the following two steps:
- Enable gating in the Content tab.
- Add a gating form as a floating section a board.
Enabling content gating
- Select a board.
- Choose the content item that you want to gate. The Edit Item dialog opens.
- Open the Visibility tab.
- Under Audience Permissions, select Gating from the drop-down list.
- Click Save. A lock icon appears on the gated item.
Adding gated forms
- Select the board on which you wish to add a gated form.
- Open the Designer.
- Open the Floating Sections.
- Click Add Element.
- Select Gating form and click Add floating section. The gating form settings open.
- To set the position of the gated form on the board, use the grid layout. To fine-tune the vertical or horizontal positioning, set a number in the relevant box.
- To require leads to complete the form before viewing gated content, enable Mandatory gating. This is the default setting. If disabled, users can view the item by closing the form.
- To require known leads to also complete a form before viewing gated content, enable Also for known leads. If disabled, only unknown leads are required to complete a form before viewing gated content.
- Select a form from the drop-down list or click NEW FORM to create a new form. To learn how to create a new form, read Designing Buttons and Forms.
- To send an email upon submission, enable the checkbox.
- To preview the board with the gating form, click Preview on the top menu bar. The form you selected is displayed on the board like this:
Now any time a lead clicks on a gated content item, the gated form pops up.
