Adding images to boards 

Images are a key part of creating boards and can be added in several areas of the board. Uploading the right image in the right place can help you create beautiful and visually effective boards.

You can add the following type of images to your board:  

File type requirements

Folloze supports the following file types:

  • JPG
  • JPEG
  • PNG
  • GIF
  • SVG
  • TIFF

Image size requirements

Sizing requirements and recommendations vary for each type of image. To ensure images display properly on your boards, follow the image sizing guidelines for each type of image:    

Image type Description Recommendations  Limitations 
Custom favicons A favicon is a small custom icon that appears in your browser tab.  
  • Maximum file size is 25MB.
  • Minimum dimensions are 16x16 pixels.
  • Maximum dimensions are 72x72 pixels.
Logos  The logo appears in the Header area of the board. You can add up to 2 logos.
  • The recommended height for a logo is 56 pixels.
  • Width dimensions of a logo are dynamically calculated within Folloze.
  • Maximum file size is 25MB.
Banner images for computers

Banner images appear across the entire Banner area of the board. You can choose from four types of banner heights. The height of the banner area affects how the background image appears on computers.

The height dimensions for the banner types are:

  • Basic: 320 pixels
  • Short: 320 pixels
  • Medium: 490 pixels
  • Tall: 688 pixels
  • If you're using a header in your board, keep in mind the header takes 80 pixels off the top of the banner image.
  • Test different banner heights to get the look you want.
  • We recommend using an image with width dimensions of 1920 pixels.

For all banner types:

  • Maximum file size is 25MB.
  • Minimum width dimensions are 1280 pixels.  
  • Maximum width is the screen width.
Banner images for mobile devices  Images for mobile banners are a fixed height for all types of banners.
  • Recommended dimensions for mobile banner images are 600 pixels width and 975 pixels height.
  • Height to width ratios are important. Use an image having a width of 61-62% of the height.
  • Maximum file size is 25MB.
Content item images   You can upload images for content items. These images appear as tiles in the Items area.    
  • Maximum file size is 25MB.
  • Height dimensions are fixed at 235 pixels.
  • Width dimensions are fixed at 350 pixels.
Icons in the Promotion area You can upload an icon image for each column in the Promotion area.
  • We recommend not using both SVG and PNG formats in the same promo area.
  • If you're using an SVG format, there are no height requirements for the image.
  • Maximum file size is 25MB.
  • Icons must be in a square format (equal width and height dimensions).
  • Minimum dimensions are 110x110 pixels.
Images in the Side By Side area  You can upload images in the Side By Side area. You can display images on the left side, right side, or both sides. 
  • Recommended dimensions for Side By Side images are 566 pixels width and 380 pixels height.
  • Maximum file size is 25MB.

General tips for images 

  • Set your browser zoom level at 100%.
  • If you adjust the browser zoom levels (increase or decrease), your browser remembers these settings. The next time you land on the board, you will view the board at the selected zoom level.
