Board custom fields store information on the board level that can be used for tracking and analytics purposes. Examples of such fields can be Campaign ID, Region, Division, Target Audience, etc.
A common use case is adding board custom fields as hidden fields to a form submitted on a board, allowing the target system to be able to track the form and attribute it to the right campaign.
These fields can be set by the board editor as part of the board settings but are not mandatory and can be left blank. However, if the company requires these custom fields to be filled, leaving them empty may impact downstream attribution.
Adding or removing fields and defining default values should be configured via support or by your Customer Success Manager. Once defined, all boards for the Folloze organization will include those fields.
Note to technical teams: For Folloze custom forms, an auto mapping can be created to forward board fields as hidden fields to the forms. If your company is using different forms (such as Marketo, Eloqua or others) this mapping can be done via a script. For more information, please email support@folloze.com.
To set values of board custom fields:
- Open the board on which you want to set custom board fields values.
- Go to Board Settings > Custom Fields.
- Enter the value in the custom field text box.
- In cases where there are multiple custom fields, enter the values for the additional custom fields.
