Overview

Folloze is a personalized engagement platform helping customers to deliver engaging, relevant and slick experiences across the entire buyer journey. From ABM programs, to personalized demand generation, event amplification, or field campaigns, Folloze closes the execution loop allowing global marketing and sales teams to deliver contextualized campaigns that increase pipeline and grow revenue.

At the core of its platform, Folloze tracks and processes account and contact engagement data such as content views, viewing time, reading time, calls-to-action, and more. By making this rich account and engagement data actionable, companies can learn and understand account engagement trends and plan their next steps effectively.

The Folloze + Salesforce connector allows companies to sync new contact and rich engagement data to Salesforce. This allows marketing to analyze engagement and allows salespeople to act upon this rich engagement data. The Folloze connector is deployed as a Salesforce package into the customer’s Salesforce instance and is then connected to Folloze in the Folloze admin screen.

Key Capabilities

Create new leads or contacts in Salesforce based on user engagement in Folloze.
Write engagement activities to Salesforce Activity and Task records.

Configure the Folloze + Salesforce Connector

Prerequisites:

Admin access to Salesforce.com or a role authorized for package installation and APIs

Salesforce Pre-Configuration prior to Package Install

The Folloze-Salesforce connector package installs a New Custom Record Type for the Task object. This is used to write tasks and emails that represent Folloze activities. For Salesforce instances that have not used task record types before, this can hide certain Global Actions/Tasks (normally affecting New Task and Log a Call) or cause Folloze activities to be written to an incorrect Task Record Type.

To resolve this, create a general Custom Record Type in Salesforce and assign it to hidden Global Actions/Tasks.

In your Salesforce org, navigate to Setup and enter Object Manager in the Quick Find box. Select the Object Manager tab.
In the Object Manager, navigate to Task > Record Types.
Click on New to create a new record type
In the new record type, enter following values:
Record Type Label: General
Record Type Name: General
Description: General Task
Active: check the box
Check the Make Available box to make the Record Type available for all Profiles
Select the radio button for “Apply one layout to all profiles” then select Task Layout from the dropdown.
Click Save then confirm the new Record Type is created as seen below:
Navigate back to Setup and enter Global Actions in the Quick Find box. Select the Global Actions tab.
In the Global Actions, select Edit on “New Task”.
In the Edit Global Action > New Task, click the Record Type dropdown, select General, then Save.
This completes the pre-configuration steps. Now, the package will add a new Record Type for Folloze.

Installing the Folloze v 2.0 Unmanaged Package

Navigate to the following link and login to your account.

Note: installation of packages requires admin login to your Salesforce instance and is only available for production instances

In the package installation screen, enter the password folloze and select Install for All Users.
Click Install and wait for the installation success screen.

Connect Folloze to Salesforce

In your Folloze instance, navigate to Company Admin > Integrations > Salesforce.
Toggle the Connect/Enable Salesforce radio button to On.
Click the Connect button which will prompt you to sign-in to Salesforce using your Salesforce credentials.

Note: The user account signing in must have the following permissions enabled in their Salesforce Profile

Administrative Permissions > API Enabled
Standard Object Permissions > Leads - Read, Create, Edit, View All, Modify All
Standard Object Permissions > Contacts - Read, Create, Edit, View All, Modify All
General User Permissions > Access Activities
General User Permissions > Edit Tasks

Determine if the integration should Create new leads in Salesforce.
For demand gen efforts, it is recommended to set this value to Yes.
Determine the Contact and Lead field mapping under Lead attribute mapping.
1. The following fields are mapped by default: Email, First Name, Last Name, Phone, Title, Company Name.
2. You can map custom attributes to the corresponding Salesforce fields.
  Note: Custom attributes must be configured in Folloze first to appear in the list. Please reach out to your Folloze CSM to create custom attributes in your account.
Determine if the integration should Report prospect activities in Salesforce and which prospect activities to report to the contact or lead in Salesforce. Rename the actions as required.
The Folloze “Text in Salesforce” field is mapped to the Subject field in the Task object.
Determine if the integration should report account engagement scores to Salesforce when an account engagement score is updated in Folloze.

Test the Folloze + Salesforce Integration

Run an outbound campaign or inbound campaign with known contacts.
Track Activities on Contact or Lead Records

When a campaign email is sent to a person or a known person interacts with the Folloze Board, Folloze checks if a Salesforce Contact or Lead record exists based on their email address. If a contact record is found, the activities are written to the contact record. If a contact record is not found, Folloze searches for a lead. If the Lead is found, the activities are written to the lead record. If neither contact nor lead record is found, a new lead record is created and the activities are written to the new lead record. When a user performs an action on the Folloze Board (e.g., opens an email, views an item, clicks a link, etc.), these actions are written to Salesforce as an Email or Task on the corresponding Contact or Lead record with a brief description of the action performed.
Click into the activity record to see rich data on the activity including type of activity, duration on item, asset name, UTMs (for attribution and source), and more.
