Overview

When configured, the Folloze + Eloqua Connector enables the option to send all Folloze emails via Eloqua rather than through Folloze servers or a user’s individual email mailbox. 

To enable this functionality, the Eloqua admin creates a template email that Folloze leverages to generate dynamic emails. The Eloqua email should include:

• A Folloze Cloud Content block in the body to dynamically generate the content from the Folloze Campaign.

• A field merge in the subject line to dynamically set the email subject from the Folloze Campaign.

• A Folloze-specific Email Group to ensure uniformity across emails sent from the Folloze Campaign.

Promotional and Non-Promotional Emails
Folloze allows users to send two types of emails. Promotional emails which are checked against contact subscription (typically marketing emails) or non-promotional emails (typically sales emails). Individual boards can be defined as promotional or non promotional.

In the Eloqua email configuration provided in Folloze, admins can configure one template for promotional emails and one for non-promotional emails. For a simple use case, both the promotional and non-promotional email fields can be configured to use the same email template.

Prerequisites

1. Folloze must have been previously connected to Eloqua (see Folloze + Eloqua Connector Setup Guide ).

2. Folloze allows emails to be sent by or on behalf of salespeople. To send emails using the salesperson’s email address, the salesperson must have an Eloqua user account.

3. Email recipients must already exist in Eloqua or the Eloqua configuration must be set to allow Folloze to create new contacts (see Create/Update Contacts in the Connector Setup Guide).

Configure Eloqua as an Email Provider

In Eloqua

1. Create a Contact field named follozeemailsubjectline that holds the email subject.
   Keep the Field Id.

2. Create a merge field for the contact field created in step 1.

3. Create an email group that will be associated with emails sent via Folloze Campaigns.

4. Create an email with cloud content taken from the Folloze app. Keep the Form Id.

5. Set the merge field (created in step 2) in the email’s Subject Line field.

6. Set the email group (created in step 3) in the email’s Email Group field.

7. Validate that there are no global restrictions on sending emails. 

In Folloze

1. Navigate to the Company Admin > Emails > Email Provider.

2. Select the ‘Restrict Eloqua’ toggle.

3. Fill ‘Email Template ID’  using the ID from the template created in Eloqua step 4. This email template is used for promotional emails.

4. Fill ‘Subject Line Contact Field ID’ using the ID from the template created in Eloqua step 1

5. Fill ‘Non Promotional Email Template ID’ - this templates is used for non promotional emails. For simple use cases, use the same template used in step 3 above (‘Email Template ID’).

6. Save this configuration.

Test Eloqua as an Email Provider

1. Login to Folloze

2. From the top right menu (press on your avatar), open My settings and email. 

3. Validate that the email provider is Eloqua.

4. Send an email campaign via Folloze.

5. Validate that emails are delivered via Eloqua.
