How it works A contact enters your Eloqua multi-step campaign and flows through the Folloze Contact Sync action.Folloze matches or creates a lead for that contact and generates a unique ID.When the contact clicks the link, Folloze recognizes them instantly. Choose your lead identification method There are two ways to identify leads from Eloqua. Pick the one that fits your setup: A Folloze ID Folloze generates and manages the ID automatically. B Custom ID Use your own Eloqua field (e.g. Contact ID) as the identifier. Before you start The Folloze integration is connected to your Eloqua instance.You have admin access to both Eloqua and Folloze. OPTION A Folloze ID Folloze generates a unique ID for each contact and writes it back to Eloqua. This is the simplest option — 5 steps and you're done. Step 1 — Create the flz id contact field in Eloqua Go to Settings → Fields & Views (under Database Setup).Click Add Contact Field.Set Display Name to flz id, Data Type to Text, Update Type to Always update.Save and verify the internal name is C_flz_id1. Step 2 — Create a field merge for flz id This lets you inject the Folloze ID into board link URLs inside emails. Go to Assets → Components → Field Merge.Click Create (or New in classic UI).Set Name to flz id, Merge From to Contact Fields, and select the flz id field from Step 1.Leave Default value blank. Save. Step 3 — Re-authorize the Folloze ↔ Eloqua connection If your integration was connected before this feature launched, you need to reconnect so Eloqua's site ID is stored. In Folloze: go to Company Admin → Integrations → Eloqua → Re-authenticate.In Eloqua (if prompted): go to Settings → Apps → click Reinstall on the Folloze app. Step 4 — Add the action to your campaign Open your campaign in Eloqua's Campaign editor.Drag the Folloze Contact Sync App Action onto the canvas.In your email, add a board link with the parameter: elq_flz_id=~~eloqua..type--emailfield..syntax--flz_id~~ Step 5 — Verify it works Run a test contact through the campaign action.In Eloqua, confirm the C_flz_id1 field is populated.Click the board link and confirm the visitor shows as a known lead in Folloze. OPTION B Custom ID Use an existing Eloqua field (like Contact ID or another unique identifier) instead of the Folloze-generated ID. Choose this if you already have a unique identifier you'd prefer to use. Step 1 — Create a field merge for your custom ID in Eloqua Go to Assets → Components → Field Merge.Create a new field merge that maps to your chosen identification field (e.g. Eloqua Contact ID).Save the field merge. Learn more: Creating field merges in Eloqua Step 2 — Configure Folloze to use your custom field In Folloze, go to Company Admin → Integrations → Eloqua.Under Lead identification method, select Custom field.In the Eloqua field merge dropdown, select the field merge you created in Step 1. Step 3 — Get the Custom ID board link Open your board in Folloze.Click Get link.Select Eloqua (Custom ID) and copy the link. Step 4 — Add to your campaign Paste the Eloqua (Custom ID) board link into your Eloqua email body.In the campaign editor, drag the Folloze Contact Sync App Action onto the canvas.Activate the campaign and test with a sample contact.
